“What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, 20 as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.
27 Only let your manner of life be worthy[h] of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God. 29 For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, 30 engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.” -Philippians 1:18-22
I care about one thing is that Christ is honored. So if that means I die for you to be honored then so be it. And if I am to live on this Earth for you Jesus to be honored then I will spread the word of Christ. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Is this your life? What is a gain in your life? Would you sell everything and give up your family for Jesus?
God. I want to be surrendered.
God is so faithful to us. So faithful.
I enjoy the intimacy with God, but the honesty from God is what is hard. He knows what our hearts care about. He knows when we have been so consumed by ourselves instead of Him. He knows the truth in our hearts. And it bothers me that I try to hide it and lie to myself. I can’t deal with the side of me that loves myself more than God. I want God to be in the spotlight of my heart. When I realized this, God brought me to my knees with tears in my eyes showing me that I loved this life more than the life with Him in heaven.
If you had the choice right now to die to self and be with God in Heaven or to live on this Earth longer, what would you honestly pick?
Most of us are too scared to pick because we know that we wouldn’t pick Heaven. We would want more time with our friends, our family, to buy more things, experience more things, and see more places. Our ‘Bucket Lists’ if you will. We honestly do not truly believe and trust in God. We do not trust that His plans are better than ours. We put ourselves first rather than God and all it does is breaks us. We live a life full of fear of all these different things and actions because we are simply afraid of death. It is Unknown to us. Right? Wrong.
The bible tells us what happens after death. IT TELLS US. Yet we deny it. Why do we deny it? Because more often than not we do not like the options it gives. If we did like the options then we wouldn’t be afraid. But since it is either give up your life or live it the way you want to but then be stuck in Hell for eternity, we ignore it. We want to love our life the way we want to and still go to heaven. We do not want to give up our wants for God’s. It’s true! We are selfish beings, and we are lying to ourselves thinking that we want what God wants. Whenever we are given the choice, we would always rather do what we want to do instead of doing what someone else wants to do.
To fully live in Christ means to die to self. Our wants no longer matter. Only God’s wants matter.
So do you trust Him? Are you so focused on Him that you could care less about what other people do, have, experience? Are you focused on the bigger picture?
Just say yes to God. Give up your worries, fears, doubts, pain, earthly loves, and fall to your knees. Run into God’s open arms. Ask to be filled with what He wants you to see, feel, love, care for, and with the people He wants you to know. It is so much better than we could ever think of.
He will take care of you. He will give you a life full His love. His love will fill the cracks in your heart, and it will refuel our souls with His great and divine love. Do not be afraid. We belong to Him, so He will take care of us.
