Live A Secretly Incredible Life

Living a secretly incredible life is a beautiful way to live. It is the way Jesus lived, and it is the way He wants us to live. Think about it…He never boasted about the incredible actions he did. In fact when he would heal and forgive the sick he would tell them, “Don’t tell anyone.” Of course when something that incredible happens, everyone who saw it talks about it and spreads that amazing action around. He also never once proclaimed his powers over us either. He simply loved us and lived in a way that was of pure compassion and present living. He didn’t try to rule over us and give wrath to us. Instead He walked with us, lived with us, and tried to understand us. He wanted to get to know us and why we are the way we are.

Jesus saw the pure goodness and love that God had for us, but saw how broken and unsure we were. He saw why we couldn’t be with our Father in Heaven, like He could, and wanted us to see the amazing life that God has for us away from the world. And since Jesus fully trusted the Lord and since He fully loved the Lord, He fully lived for the Lord. By doing so, He made it possible for us to be with our Father in Heaven. And you know what? He was not concerned about what other people thought. He was not concerned about what other people were speaking of Him. He was solely consumed and focused on loving God, spreading the good news, saving us, and spreading love like Ivy.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your words are wonderful, I know that full well.”- Psalm 139:14

Jesus lived a life that would pave the way for us to be with our Father, and at the basis of His teaches was His humble and kind way of living. The way we all live today is by posting our honors, awards, and milestone, and anything else that would look amazing to people outside of our own lives. We try to build ourselves up and give ourselves as much credibility as possible. We learn, in today’s age, to flaunt everything we own accomplish by posting, writing, or talking about it. However, the way Jesus lives and teaches is by sharing it and talking about it with our Father. And Jesus teaches it right before He says the Lord’s Prayer!

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven”

“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” -Matthew 6:1-4

So do not seek earthly rewards… Instead seek the reward that God has for you. Trust me. Just because your entire internet friend group and family have no idea what you did does not meant that it is going unnoticed. God sees and hears all things. He notices your kind words and when you humbly give to others. God is good, and God is love.

Now go out and live a secretly incredible life! Feed the hungry, care for the sick, provide shelter for the homeless, spread love like ivy and make this world as green as the seas’ are blue. Do not be swallowed up by the fact that no one will know about your deeds. It will already been seen and heard by our gracious Father and King. It will not only humble and grow you, but it will provide you with a brilliantly colorful life.

“In the end, it’s not about the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” -Abraham Lincoln
