Today while walking outside I was caught up in day dreams listening to music. So while I was jamming out, all of the sudden an older man came up next to me briskly walking and as he walked by he joyfully said, “Don’t you just love this weather?! I am enjoying this walk so much I can’t get enough!” As he continued walking away I couldn’t help but say to myself “That seriously felt like God saying that. What if that was God just joyfully passing by me admiring His creation. Enjoying the new season ahead and sweetly saying hello to me.” Funny to say, but it’s true! It was just a sureal moment to have and I can’t help but wonder what Peter and John must have felt when they walked with Jesus. Witnessing how Jesus loved everyone and seeing how people briefly meet Him and delighted in Him.

“Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.”2 Timothy 1:14

“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16

As I continued to walk we bumped into one another again and the man just smiled a bright and joyful smile. One of those overflowing smiles that makes you instantly happy and you can’t help but smile back. That brief encounter made me think of what it is like to be with God and to follow Christ. You simply are filled with His love and it overflows your soul so that the love and joy and kindness is filled into others.

I can’t help but find joy and peace knowing that God dwells amoung us and delights in us. And how beautiful it will be when one day we can walk with God forever admiring His beauty. That brief encounter was such a great reminder that God is all around us. You are never alone. He dwells within us and we can go through life knowing that His love, grace, beauty, and kindess surrounds us.
